Child Advocate in Respite Care Program
Help provide enhanced respite child care for children of teen mothers.  Responsiblities would include role-modeling, nurturing, and playing appropriately with infants and toddlers, basic working and cleaning chores, some interaction with teen parents, and possible transportation for children to and from UAY.  Helpful skills and experience would include knowledge of child development, positive child descipline, ability to lift and hold children, and an energetic, loving, creative attitude with children.
 
 
Partner with Youth to Manage Volunteer Center
The volunteer center is the hub of communication and involvement for volunteers at United Action for Youth.  Both youth and adult volunteers will staff this office/welcoming center during regular youth center hours.
Basic responsiblities include:
-  Providing up-to-date information on community services and resources.
-  Providing tours and basic information about the youth center to individuals or community groups.
-  Providing communication and operating support through regular maintenance of activity calenders, brochures, and information on new volunteer opportunities.
 
 
Assist in After-School Programming
Help organize activities for youth such as art or games.  Interact with Junior High and or Elementary-aged students, and encourage positive social interaction.
 
 
Become a Teenline Supervisor
Supervise youth volunteers ages 14-18, on teen-line shifts.  Provide support when youth have calls or questions.  Engage in positive interactions with youth.  Knowledge of issues facing teens, crisis intervention, and previous experience with youth helpful.
 
 
Solon Youth Center Program
Assist staff in organizing activities for youth. Be willing to play and organize games in an open gym program.  Interact positively with teenagers, and enforce program expectations and rules.  Includes lots of running around with youth!
 
 
Street Outreach
Assist the street outreach program in meeting youth in the community, telling them about services at UAY, and engaging with them in skill building activities.
 
 
Tutoring or Lessons
Provide academic, art, and/or music lessons to interested youth during hang out or various other programs.
