Contact Joanna Dawson, UAY Teen Health Educator

Health Education at UAY is an important component for reaching out to the community.  Our health educator, Joanna Dawson works with youth, parents and community members to promote wellness within Johnson County, and beyond, through our health education website.  Joanna provides presentations on a variety of health-related topics and works with youth directly to best tailor messages to suit their needs.

Joanna earned her Masters in Public Health within Epidemiology and Maternal, Child & Family Health from the University of Iowa in May of 2010.  She is interested in women’s health, adolescent health, technology and behaviors, and how to work to become a better health care educator.

Joanna comes to UAY with an enthusiasm for promoting healthy behaviors, responsible choices, and believes all individuals have a role in protecting the health of our community.
